The last of the nine pizzas we made for Wendie’s birthday. That was quite an evening. This pizza was another one with an odd shape, but we have learned to ignore the shape, and just enjoy the taste. The smoked paprika is fantastic on pizza where it really shines through after the baking.
Pizza Recipe
- 1 pizza dough
- 5 tbs tomato sauce
- 2 roma tomatoes
- 3 oz of grilled chicken
- 1/4 onion
- 2 oz jarlsberg cheese
- 2 oz Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
Grill a chicken breast using your favorite recipe (or use the one from last night).
Slice the chicken and tomatoes. Grate the two cheeses into a mix. Cut the onions into 1 inch long slices.
Spread the tomato sauce on the rolled out dough. Lay out the chicken and tomatoes, and spread the onions on top. Cover with the cheese mix and sprinkle with smoked paprika. It should look something like the photo below.
Place in a 400 degree pre-heated oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
Which parmesan cheese maturity do you recommend for this recipe? (see link) They sell 3 different kinds…
The older it is, the stronger the taste, so I would start with the youngest and work my way up the age until you reach your favorite. Besides, all of them looks delish !
